Overview

The automative lab of the Motorsport Engineering (Hons) programme at the Oxford Brookes University has specialist equipment including a four-post rig, damper dyno and high speed instrumented engine test cells.

If you have a passion for motorsports then our Motorsports Engineering degree is for you. You will learn engineering principles specific to motorsport.

You will study:

mathematics
engineering design and management
dynamics
thermo-fluids

stress analysis.

Companies that offer work placements and employment opportunities include: Mercedes GP, Williams, McLaren, Force India, Red Bull Racing, AP Racing.

Career prospects

The United Kingdom is the home of the motorsport industry and it employs many graduates each year. Several generations of our students are in F1 companies as race engineers, designers, aerodynamicists, chassis and powertrain engineers.

There are also postgraduate learning opportunities open through the department at MSc or PhD level.

A levels: tariff points must include A level Grade B in Maths, and Grade B in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering or another suitable science subject.

IB Diploma: 31 points (BEng) or 32 points (MEng) to include minimum grade 5 in Higher Level Maths and Physics

BTEC: tariff points must include BTEC National Diploma in an engineering subject, plus A-level Grade B in Maths.
