Overview

The Business and Marketing Management (Hons) programme at the Oxford Brookes University will enable you to respond to the differing needs of a diverse range of organisations.

You will have the skills required to be an effective, confident and reflective manager, including:

critical analysis
communication

problem solving.

This degree shares a common first year with Marketing Management and Marketing Communications Management. You can switch between these courses at the end of your first year.

Career prospects

After graduation you will be prepared for a managerial career in business, marketing, marketing communications, retail or logistics in a range of organisations. Many students go on to graduate training schemes in companies such as Marks & Spencer, Johnson & Johnson, Virgin Mobile, Intel, Aldi and Proctor & Gamble. GCSE: Mathematics (grade C/4 or above) and English (grade C/4 or above)

General entry requirements

Acceptable passes in five subjects (exceptionally four subjects) at GCSE or GCE including:

one 12-unit vocational A-level, or
two A-levels or two 6-unit vocational A-levels, or
one A-level or 6-unit vocational A-level plus two AS-levels, or
two 3-unit vocational A-levels *(* where these are included they need to be in subjects other than those held at A-level).

A National Certificate or Diploma at a good standard.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 24 points) or the European Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 60%).
Five subjects in SCE with two at Higher level or one at Advanced Higher level.
Three subjects in Scottish Highers or two at Advanced Higher level.
Any other qualifications considered by the Academic Board to be of equivalent standard.
