General requirements

The BEd is a postgraduate bachelor’s degree programme that requires an undergraduate degree.

Preference is given to applicants who have completed, or are completing, a four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum of 20 full credits. Applicants holding a three-year degree will be considered for admission.

Admission is based on your academic achievement and on the information you’ll submit in the experience profile part of the application.

You must have a minimum academic average of B- in your most recently completed 10 full credits (20 half credits) of undergraduate university courses.

If you have a college/applied degree, you will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

If you're applying to the French as a Second Language (FSL) focus in Primary/Junior programme, or the French teachable in the Junior/Intermediate programme, you'll also be required to complete a French proficiency assessment. The assessment is typically conducted in January.
