Computer Engineering

Overview

The mission of the Computer Engineering program of Hacettepe University is to conduct research at the international level and to produce solutions to industrial problems; to produce graduates capable of understanding the basic concepts of the discipline, who can apply their knowledge, skills and experience in a creative way, who serve their communities and society with a strong ethical responsibility, and who have lifelong learning and teamworking skills.

Program Outputs:

• Adequate knowledge in mathematics, science and computer engineering subjects; ability to use theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas in complex engineering problems.

• Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex engineering problems; the ability to select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.

• Ability to design a complex system, process, device or product to meet specific requirements under realistic constraints and conditions; the ability to apply and implement modern design methods for this purpose.

• Ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in engineering applications; ability to use information technologies effectively.

• Ability to design, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the study of complex engineering problems or research topics specific to computer engineering.

• Ability to work effectively in disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams; self-study skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written Turkish; knowledge of at least one foreign language; Ability to write effective reports and understand written reports, to prepare design and production reports, to make effective presentations, to give clear and understandable instructions and receiving skills.

• Awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning; the ability to access information, follow developments in science and technology, and constantly renew oneself.

• Acting in accordance with ethical principles, awareness of professional and ethical responsibility; information about standards used in engineering applications.

• Knowledge about business practices such as project management, risk management and change management; awareness about entrepreneurship and innovation; information on sustainable development.

• Knowledge of the effects of engineering applications on health, environment and safety in universal and social dimensions and the problems reflected in the engineering field of the age; awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.

• Knowledge of probability, statistics and discrete mathematics for solving complex computer engineering problems.
