Dalhousie University 's Theatre programme prepares for a career in professional theatre by participating in up to three productions a year in our two performance spaces. Learn from faculty with years of academic and professional expertise in a range of subjects including acting, directing, playwriting, and technical scenography. Through practical and theoretical classes, you’ll make close friends in a city with a vibrant arts community.

What you will learn

The Fountain School of Performing Arts has a wide range of courses to get you started in your chosen career in theatre. Within the BA Theatre programme, we offer Honours degrees in Acting, Costume Studies, Stage Design & Technical Theatre, and Theatre Studies.

Get out of your seat with a course in dance and movement or create clothing from any period in history. The possibilities are endless!

Whether your passion is for acting, directing, playwriting, dramaturgy, costume design or construction, scenic design or carpentry, lighting, sound, props, stage management, or studying the history of theatre, the Fountain School of Performing Arts can give you what you need to get you started in your chosen career.
