About:
You’ll study key concepts of games design to game mechanics and conceptual skills, as well as pitching, project management and key development techniques. Upon graduation, you’ll have a strong portfolio of playable games ready to present to employers.This Computer Games Design (Hons) degree is offered by University of South Wales.
Our graduates have entered employment with industry notables, including Electronic Arts, Lionhead and many more, while others have started their own successful companies.
Career:
Graduate games designers find employment in the games industry, primarily in games design, but also developing concept art, animation, level design and play-testing. Our graduates have also found success in contemporary advertising, motion graphics, VR, and illustration.
Graduates of our Computer Games Design course have entered employment with industry notables such as Electronic Arts, Rocksteady, Rare, Creative Assembly and Aardman, amongst others. Many of our students have started their own companies, a few of note are, Bithell Games, Toxic Games and Fiddlesticks.

Other requirements
General requirements
280 UCAS tariff points, eg, BBC at A-level, to include an A-level in a relevant subject. Five GCSEs grade C or above to include Mathematics and English Language.
An interview and portfolio are required for our Computer Games Design degree. Your portfolio should demonstrate strong artistic and design abilities. Your portfolio should be a carefully constructed selection of your work, preferably produced during your most recent course of study, and can include any personal work or projects that you feel are relevant to the course. All work should be well organised and presented. You should be prepared to discuss your work at interview as well as any games designers/artists who have influenced you.
