The world is waking up like never before to the importance of protecting our environment, and those with expertise in environmental science will contribute to ensuring the future health of our planet. At Dalhousie University , Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary academic programme that integrates research and principles from several disciplines to important issues related to the state of the environment.

What you will learn

You will start the programme by learning the fundamentals of environmental science and explore topics including current environmental challenges, the ecosphere, resources and sustainability. You’ll get outside the classroom and gain hands-on experience conducting field studies in nearby forests, marshes, rivers and city parks.

Dalhousie’s Environmental Science programme encourages you to explore the environment from scientific perspectives; as well as the political, cultural, ethical, and historical angles. You can make it your main focus of study or combine it with other programmes.
