Description

Carnegie Trust is prepared to consider applications for assistance with tuition fees by students of Scottish birth, parentage or schooling for courses leading to a first degree at a Scottish university. The scheme aims to support students who are not eligible to receive government funding towards the costs of their tuition fees following withdrawal from a previous course of study, academic repeats or because of their residence status. Applicants must demonstrate that their financial circumstances will hinder access to their chosen course of study when making a request for funding to the Carnegie Trust.

Benefits

The grant has a value up to £1,820 for the cost of tuition fees.

Eligibility

To be considered for this grant you must:

  • Be entitled to remain indefinitely in the UK; OR
  • Have Limited Leave to Remain under a visa that is valid for the entire duration of the course; OR
  • Be an asylum seeker;
  • Not be eligible for public funds (e.g. grants or loans) towards the cost of tuition fees, whether in Scotland, the UK or overseas;
