Description
A scholarship with Salutem Care and Education enabled Germain to graduate and pursue a career in learning disability nursing. Germain was grateful to have had the opportunity to receive mentoring and financial support from Salutem which enabled her to focus on her studies.
Benefits
The scholarship varies slightly each year, but awards are usually around £5,000.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be classed as a Home student for fee purposes.
- Have received an offer for one of the following programmes:
- BSc Accounting and Finance
- BSc Learning Disability Nursing
- BSc Psychology
- BA Social Work
Priority is given to applicants who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- First generation in their family to attend university.
- Mature student (aged 21 or over) without a bachelor's degree.
- Household income below £25,000 per year.
- Disabled or have a specific learning difference.
- Under 25 and have spent time in care or are estranged from their family.
- Recognised as a young adult carer.
- Entering higher education with a BTEC as their main qualification.
