Brunel’s Professional Development Centre gives students access to career and employability resources. These can boost the employability of students by helping them develop the skills and experience needed to stand out in the international job market, and prepare for an impactful career.
We guarantee accommodation on campus for all new students starting in September 2020 who meet their course conditions and apply for a room by 27 August 2020. You’ll find comfortable and secure accommodation across the campus. We offer a range of rooms to suit different budgets. To help you settle in, our Residence Ambassadors will be there to support you when you arrive. All residences have card access and CCTV, and our security teams patrol the halls for your safety and wellbeing.
The library is open 24 hours a day during term-time, providing you with more than 400,000 books and reference materials and some unique collections. It also has an extensive e-library with over 600,000 eBooks and 100,000 eJournals. The Library caters for varied needs, from group work to silent study with numerous PC workstations and wifi network available. Laptops are also available to loan.
All students can access our WiFi across campus, download Microsoft office software for free and use our 24-hour PC labs during term time. Brunel’s IT support team is available to assist with IT support issues.
If you’re living on campus or within a two-mile radius of the University, you can register to our on campus Medical Centre.
Brunel is a single site university, where everything is within a 10-minute walk. Whether you’re going to class or for a coffee it’s all close by. Whether you want a place to eat or a space to meet it’s on your doorstep. We provide on-campus accommodation and you’ll also find plenty of cafes and restaurants as well as a weekly farmers market and an onsite supermarket. There is also a pharmacy and bank. Our campus bar Loco’s and Academy nightclub offer opportunities to socialise and hang out with friends. Plus, Uxbridge town centre is just a short walk away, offering a whole host of shops, entertainment venues and eateries.
Our sports facilities include an impressive indoor Athletics Centre with its 132-metres long indoor sprint track, a long jump pit, high jump and pole vault areas.
Our gym boasts state-of-the-art cardiovascular machines and is host to four training zones, weight training equipment and an exercise studio. You can play basketball, volleyball, badminton and netball in our Sports Halls, and there is an indoor climbing wall, pump room and cricket and archery nets.
At our Sports Park opposite campus, you’ll find a 400-metre athletics track, full size football pitch and rugby pitch to international standard. There’s also six tennis courts and four netball courts plus a further four football pitches and 2 rugby pitches.
There are over 100 societies for you to get involved in at Brunel, from Arts and Crafts or Ultimate Frisbee, to subject specific groups where you can socialise with students from your course.
Brunel Arts organises weekly classes, events, concerts and production throughout the year. Our courses are open to everyone and include singing, acting, creative writing, 3D special effects make-up and pottery.
There’s also over 50 sports activities for you to try, from American Football and rock climbing to rugby, hockey and athletics. Our sports clubs are free to use for all students, once you join Team Brunel.
