Hessen, the state of the sciences, has not only institutions of higher education, but is also home to many highly competitive, non-university research facilities. Hessen´s state government sees the promotion of education, research, and the sciences as the most important investment in the future. As such, the state government supports closer cooperation between institutes of research and institutions of higher education.
