The origin of the University of Belgrade can be tracked down to the beginning of the 19th century, when Dositej Obradovi´c founded the College in 1808.

Studies conducted at the faculties of the University are adapted to the principles of the Bologna Declaration.

In order to create a professional university service to support students and recent graduates in developing practical knowledge and skills, or continuing education upon graduation and to connect them to the business community, the Foundation of Crown Prince Alexander for Culture and Education in cooperation with the University of Belgrade and the University of Nottingham has initiated the establishment of the Centre for Career Development.

With the kind support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the Student’s Centre Belgrade, the University of Belgrade is able to offer paid accommodation in the Student Dormitory “Rifat Burdževi´c”.
University Library "Svetozar Markovic" is the oldest and biggest university library in Serbia. The most important user groups are students, university lecturers and researchers, but it is also open for general public and users from abroad.
The Library collection consists of 1.5 million objects and tens of thousands of electronic books and papers are also accessible in the library.
Constant development of user services and mutual linking of academic institutions gradually grew into (CCUB) the central communication point of the Academic network, one of the largest computer networks in the country Educational and research staff and the University students are entitled to free work-space at computer servers of CCUB and the Internet access.
At this point when I look back at my studies I am really happy and I wouldn't change a thing. Everything happens for a reason.
My experience was generally very good. I was happy with my teachers and colleagues, however i wish we had more practical exercises. Courses were mostly very detailed and time consuming which cannot always be considered as an advantage...
