Research
Research is a major growth sector for Université de Nantes. As an innovative force, the University also has research agreements with industry and shares its discoveries with the society at large.
This new knowledge is supported by more than 3,200 permanent and contract research staff (teachers, researchers, scientists, administrative and technical staff, PhD students) working in laboratories that have all been accredited by the national government (43 research structures). Thanks to its 2 campuses of Saint-Nazaire and La-Roche-sur-Yon, Université de Nantes maintains a strong presence within the territory.
Within its campuses, different disciplines meet to enrich one another. Université de Nantes is one of the rare French universities to promote interdisciplinarity. 38,000 students mix within the 20 faculties and schools there. 295 specialities are represented, 44 laboratories work in all fields of knowledge.
