Founded in 1473, Trier University was closed under Napoleon’s reign in the 18th century and not reopened until 1970.

ICT services
The ZIMK is a central facility of the University of Trier. In addition to the operation of the information technology infrastructure (e-mail, websites, servers, networks, workplaces), the portfolio also includes project support, advice, training and further education. The ZIMK ensures the secure, stable and sustainable use of IT resources and is responsible for their provision.

Campus life
Both university campuses can be reached by bus, bicycle or on foot, and all university facilities are located on campus. Lecture halls, laboratories, library, athletic facilities, student housing and other service units are all within easy reach of each other.
Campus I and Campus II are both set in a sprawling park landscape dotted with numerous works of modern art, sunning lawns, streams and ponds – the ideal setting to relax and take a break from daily university life. Landscape architects recently named the park one of 100 special places in Germany.
