Good teaching method, few incentives for research

Having studied before in an university in my own country, I can tell that the University of Coimbra has its advantages and disavantages
I think the biggest pro is the teaching method, separated in theoretical classes and practical classes, where you get to apply the theory you learned in theoretical classes.
As a con, I have to say the university does not incentivate...
The University of Coimbra is one of the best places on earth for those whose love the studying abroad experience. Here they have a really good staff to take care of the international students especially. I study in a palace, so i can afford to tell you that is very exciting. Also the teachers are very qualified and recognized.
It's tough. In the beginning, you know no one. And the Institution is so much bigger than you. So much history, so much responsibility! However, the trick to face all the challenges is: make friends. Don´t go look for them, at parties or bars, because they are already with you. They are YOU. So, get to know those who surround you. Build a study group, recognize each others...
