In 1614 the first Westphalian university - with a theological and a philosophical faculty - was founded by the prince bishop Dietrich von Fürstenberg in Paderborn, which was continued after the secularization in the state of Prussia as a church university.

The Paderborn student group Eurobiz works on the orientation program together with the International Office and organizes most excursions. Many of the Eurobiz members are volunteers who have studied abroad themselves or plan to stay abroad. They very much enjoy assisting the exchange students in Paderborn and organizing community undertakings. Eurobiz offers all of the following:Sporting events (soccer, volleyball, etc.), parties, and other free time activities (bbqs, etc.)
The General Student Committee (AStA) is an organ of the written student body. He represents the student body, implements the resolutions of the Student Parliament (StuPa) and carries out the day-to-day administration of the student body.
