Founded more than 45 years ago, CATÓLICA-LISBON is a leading school of economics and management in Portugal. We have a long-standing reputation for innovative teaching and rigorous academic research. The school is strongly committed to intellectual rigor, critical thinking and academic excellence.


We offer six Master programs in Management, Finance and Economics.  Whichever program you choose, you study with fellows from 60 countries and intensively get to work on your future career. To crown it all, you have the opportunity to get two diplomas at the same time.

CATÓLICA-LISBON has more than 110 partner universities around the world, where you can spend a semester abroad. In addition, the school offers you the option to do a double degree, for example in cooperation with ESCP Europe or Università Bocconi.


We pursue our mission internationally through a combination of teaching excellence, the practical relevance of our programs, generation of original research, service to the community and the promotion of ethical behavior inspired by Christian values.

From day one, our Career Development Office supports you throughout your academic journey, preparing you for the challenges of the job market by providing you with the skills.

- be prepared for demanding recruitment processes

  • Strongly connected to the corporate world, our Career Development Office gives you exclusive access to several career platforms and forums, both nationally and internationally


Medical services

If you are a European Union (EU) Citizen, you can use the National Health services (public hospitals) by showing a valid European Health Insurance Card. You will be charged the same fee as a Portuguese citizen.

If you are a Non-European Union (Non EU) Citizen, valid International Insurance is necessary. You should check with the service provider which Health units you can use during your stay.

Student Life

Campus life

The Campus is located in the heart of Lisbon, in the intersection of Av. dos Combatentes and Palma de Cima (the flyover crossing the North-South Axis road) and has five buildings. CATÓLICA-LISBON is building number V.

  • Several classrooms (located on floors 0, 1 and 2);
  • 8 auditoriums:  3 of which have capacity for around 200 people and 5 others with lower capacity (located on floors 1 and 2);
  • The Thomson Reuters Room that offers Eikon terminals from Thomson-Reuters. This terminals provides economic, financial and market information across industries and across the world, with great scope and depth.  (located on floor 0);

Sports facilities

The geographical diversity of Portugal provides the conditions for a wide range of different sports and outdoor activities. Water sports and tennis facilities are world class and the mild climate means they can be enjoyed nearly all year round. Walking, cycling, riding and fishing are also widely enjoyed and easily arranged. Some cities have appropriate roads for bike-riding and skate parks for skating.

At CATÓLICA-LISBON, the Student Union organizes some team sport activities during the year.

At the beginning of 2008, CATÓLICA-LISBON became the first Portuguese Business School member of the elite group of business schools holding the coveted Triple Crown status. 

This exceptional achievement means that CATÓLICA-LISBON is now among the top 1% of business schools worldwide to be accredited by all three management education associations:

  • European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD)
  • Association for MBA's (AMBA)
