Students can choose from a variety of food shopping options in Freeport – from local markets to major grocery stores – where smart shopping and simple meal planning help keep costs manageable.There is a wide range of housing options within walking distance of both the Western Atlantic University School of Medicine (WAUSM) campus and shopping districts, and our Student Affairs team will work with you to find one that meets your needs and budget.
Representing the best of both worlds, Grand Bahama Island is a tropical paradise with all the modern amenities you would expect from a contemporary island located just miles off the Florida coast. An array of restaurants, places of worship, schools, golf courses, and day spas are located within a short distance of campus, in addition to various tourist attractions.
WAUSM students have access to an array of fitness and self-care service providers on Grand Bahama Island, including the YMCA of Grand Bahama where all WAUSM students have membership access and offers swimming, martial arts, tennis, yoga, and aerobics classes. CrossFit is another close option frequented by students.
