Technical University in Zvolen

The Technical University of Zvolen (hereinafter referred to as "TU") proudly claims to be one of the first technical higher education institutions in the world, whose origins are connected with the establishment of the Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica in 1762, where forestry disciplines began to be taught in 1770. 

In education, it fulfills its mission in seven groups of study fields: forestry, structural engineering, technology, production and communications, ecological and environmental sciences, security services, economics and management, art; with an emphasis on second and third level study programs and accreditation and implementation of programs in foreign languages. The university provides studies in 24 study programs at the first level of study, 26 study programs at the second level of study and 28 study programs at the third level of study, both in full-time and part-time form.

In the field of research, it fulfills its mission by solving research projects and programs of national and international character in seven research areas: agricultural and forestry sciences, engineering and technology, environmental science and ecology, mechanical engineering, economics and management, security services, art; as well as in other related and applied areas.
