The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 828 in December, 2011) and envisioned to become a pre-eminent research and practically oriented health educational institution dedicated to community service.
Today, the university runs 22 undergraduate and several postgraduate programmes in eight schools: School of Allied Health Sciences; School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences; School of Medicine; School of Nursing and Midwifery; School of Pharmacy; Fred N. Binka School of Public Health; and School of Sports and Exercise Medicine. The new School of Dentistry is being incubated in the School of Medicine.UHAS also has two institutes, i.e., Institute of Health Research and Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine. A third insitute, Institute of Medical Education, is yet to be established.

The main campus, including the central administration, is in Ho. A second campus is located in Hohoe. The university began operating in September 2012 with 154 students.

University of Ghana as the name suggests is a home for academics. The school is open to all who are willing to study and improve on their education, there are no biases and students are given the chance to explore various opportunities.One thing i really love about the school is that it doesnt segregate,this stood out for me,because matured students are given the fair chance to learn in comfort and pay fees installmentally i would recommend the school to any one ready to give studying a chance no matter their educational background,age or financial position as they would be able to work and earn a degree at a prestigous university.
The University Of Ghana is often known to be a premier institution in Ghana. I like that it's known for it's good academics, strong reputation and at the same time still challenges students into becoming the best of themselves. Nevertheless, there are just two things I dislike about it. First of all some of the hostels in the university are over-priced and secondly students still fill up those hostel with some left without accomodation. Despite all of this, what stood out for me is it's serene environment and approacheable lecturers. I will confidently recommend the University Of Ghana to anyone planning on enrolling.
In life nothing comes simple, it takes perseverance, discipline, respect as well as determination as to where individually we want to reach in life. I really enjoyed prosthetics and orthotics.
