About
History
Founded in 1964 as "Girls' College", Alzahra University was limited to a few majors. During its early years of establishment, Girls' College gradually grew and in 1975 was officially expanded into a university. After the Islamic Revolution in Iran, it was renamed Alzahra University and continued to flourish in an enterprising and progressive spirit.
Education
Since 2013, educational and research services have been provided by the university's 10 faculties viz Literature, Theology, Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Social Sciences and Economics, Education and Psychology, Mathematical Sciences, Biology, Engineering, Physics and Chemistry, and Arts.
Research
The two research centers of Women Studies and Economic Studies are also focused on doing cutting-edge research and educating researchers of the future.

It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

Student services
Following the regulations of the Student Guild Council and to create a suitable platform for strengthening the fields of consensus and participation of students in guild affairs and increasing students' awareness of student rights and duties, Alzahras University Student Guild Council on 10/03/96 during the electronic elections (in two Stage) has been formed and operated under the supervision of the student deputy.
Housing services
Built in an area of 14 hectares, the university includes advanced laboratories, cyber cafés, pools, gyms, bicycle trail, restaurants, rich libraries, art gallery, workshops, dormitories and in-campus bank, post office and kindergarten. It is worth mentioning that the dormitories and all of the mentioned accommodation are located in a campus at Alzahra University.

The Central Library features many books, manuals and it has dedicated study areas.

The campus is located at Alzahra University, North Sheikh Bahaee St., Deh-e Vanak, Tehran, I. R. of Iran. Alzahra's second campus has been recently founded in the scenic city of Urmia.

The university features a gym with all sorts of equipment.
