History
The history of Institutions of this flagship University goes back to 1986 when Saveetha Medical and Educational Trust was started to provide medical relief, to promote education and to encourage research. On 18th November 1988, Saveetha Dental College was established.
Education
Courses are offered in the following disciplines: allied medical education; architecture; dentistry; engineering; law; management; medicine; nursing; pharmacy; physical education and physiotherapy.
Research
All Research projects have to be approved by the Scientific Review Board (SRB) of the individual institutions. The SRB will check on the research methodology and approve a proposal for review by the Institutional Ethical Committee (IEC). After obtaining approval from the IEC, the research can be performed.

Housing services
Modern luxurious hostels are located in both campuses for boys and girls. All the rooms are spacious and provided with a cot, table, book shelf and cupboard. The hostels are well equipped with modern and hygienic kitchen (Gas & Steam) to cater to the needs of the students. Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian cuisine are available. A special dinner is organized in the last week of every month. Mineral water is supplied for drinking purpose with imported Reverse Osmosis plant.
ICT services
All the hostels are WiFi enabled with provision for computers, telephone, television, refrigerator and air-conditioner.
