The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart (Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg Stuttgart, DHBW Stuttgart) is one of the largest universities in the Stuttgart and Upper Neckar regions. The most important feature is the integration of theory and practical experience: Students regularly switch between theoretical phases at the university and practical phases at the work placement.

History

The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) was founded as the first cooperative, practice-integrating university in Germany in 2009. It applies the successful dual principle of the former Berufsakademie, which was developed more than 40 years ago and is characterised by its close connection of theoretical studies and practical experience in companies and social institutions.

Education

The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart offers more than 40 Bachelor study programmes in the schools of Business, Engineering and Social Work.

Research

In accordance with the principle of duality and cooperation, research at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart is conducted in an application-based and transfer-orientated manner, predominantly in conjunction with the corporate partners and with other companies in the regions, universities and research institutions.
