When the Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) began teaching students in 1967, it drew on a rich history of technical education in Western Australia to offer industry-focused higher education courses to a booming post-war population. The key organisational milestones in our subsequent journey to becoming the state’s largest and most multicultural university are highlighted below.

A Rewarding and Supportive Learning Experience
My overall study experience was very positive. The lecturers were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to help students understand difficult concepts. I enjoyed the practical learning sessions and group projects, which helped me develop technical and teamwork skills. The learning environment was welcoming, and I gained valuable knowledge that prepared me for my career. One area that could be improved is increasing access to modern laboratory equipment and providing more industry exposure through internships and field trips. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience and would recommend this institution to future students
