Ludwigsburg University of Education

The college of education, founded in 1962 and located in Ludwigsburg since 1966, is the largest of the six colleges of education in Baden-Württemberg with around 6,000 students and over 470 employees. The universities of teacher education have the right to award doctorates and postdoctoral qualifications and are thus on an equal footing with universities. 

The Ludwigsburg University of Education sees itself as a modern competence center for educational sciences in four closely related areas: school education, extracurricular child and youth education, adult and further education as well as education in the cultural and social area. 

A major focus of the university profile is the bachelor's and master's degree programs for teaching positions in elementary school, secondary level I, European teaching post secondary level I and special education (BA / M.Ed.). The PH offers a Master of Science degree for vocational training.

At the Ludwigsburg University of Education, school-based and extracurricular educational processes are researched at all ages, with a strong focus on didactic and educational research. The research funding agency offers support and advice for researchers - particularly with regard to the financing of research projects and the research methodology.

The EU research department of the Baden-Württemberg University of Education, located in Ludwigsburg, provides a service for all six universities. At the same time, the joint graduate academy of all six teacher training colleges can be used.
