Before World War II, American scholarship in the profession of arms matured in each of the military services more or less independently. Requirements for advanced education for leaders of the nation's military and naval forces were met as they arose through postgraduate colleges set up by and for the respective services.

The NDU CIC Office of Student Services (OSS) is located in Room 145 Marshall Hall. Students should consult the OSS for assistance with admissions, registration, course management, tuition processing, and online student information system operations. Office hours are 0700-1500. NDU Library staff will guide you to the collections that you will need for your research, and you may have limited photocopying of library materials. Services do not include use of wireless network, loan of materials, cost-incurring research services, document delivery, FAX, interlibrary loan, or other privileges and services granted to primary mission users.
