Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Information Resource Centre nicknamed IRC was established in July 1997 as a support centre for academic activities of the university. Housing an approximately 210,000 volumes of items, the collection comprises of a wide variety of printed and non-printed materials ranging from books, periodicals, in-house reports, audiovisuals and multimedia.
The wellbeing and health of our students and faculty are among our top priorities. UTP has its very own health centre – staffed by experienced medical personnel – to provide emergency and routine health services 24 hours, 7 days a week.
The campus is built on a 400 hectare (1,000 acres) site strategically located at Bandar Seri Iskandar, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia. The university is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS, the national oil and gas company of Malaysia.
Apart from ensuring students have access to world-class academic facilities, UTP also makes physical fitness and co-curricular competitiveness a priority. All students will enjoy full access to an array of sports and recreation facilities in our dedicated sports complex.
My study experience in UTP is a wholesome experience where i had the chance to visualize what i learn through chemistry practicals. Apart from that, UTP offered courses other than the core subjects to make us versatile and able to survive wherever we go. The university offered a conducive learning environment for my programme which has benefitted me greatly. The main shortfall I had faced was the lack of facilities for certain courses which has room for improvement.
Studying environment provided up to requirement. Learning courses should be more flexible to adjust the demand of graduates.
