Midway through his announcement of the opening of Hebrew College, on the front page of the Aug. 18, 1921, issue of the Jewish Advocate, Louis Hurwich issued a call to revolution:
"In the next five years, no less than 75 percent of the present Jewish teachers in Boston will go over to other professions," warned Hurwich, the superintendent of the Bureau of Jewish Education of Boston.

Our neighbor, Andover Newton Theological School, offers on-campus housing that is available to Hebrew College students. The most common places students tend to live are Newton, Brookline, Cambridge, Somerville and Jamaica Plain. Brookline is particularly popular because it is a hub of Jewish Boston, with many shuls and kosher restaurants. It is also accessible via the Green Line.
The Gann Library has the resources and expertise to facilitate your search. We are pleased to offer our resources to all members of the Hebrew College community and to our visitors.
Our campus is fully WiFi-enabled, and many rooms are equipped with short-throw projectors and other presentation equipment.
Our campus on the hill is wonderful place to work, study, learn and grow.
