History
ALU is a network of world-class tertiary education institutions whose mission is to produce 3 million young African leaders over the next 50 years. ALU’s first campus was inaugurated in September 2015 in Mauritius and is known as African Leadership College. It's second campus was inaugurated in September 2017 in Kigali Heights, Rwanda.
Education
- ALU is pioneering a fresh approach to higher education in the 21st century; offering accredited undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education programmes in a unique and imaginative way.
- ALU develops skills in its graduates to ensure they will remain relevant even as the world changes. It also develops its students intellectually, provides them with work experience, and develops their “whole” being.
Career
Most universities start speaking to their graduates to think about life after graduation in their final year of the program. It is an unnerving position to be in – asking deep reflective questions about yourself to understand your strengths and interests – and also have to plan for the next step applying for opportunities with little credibility.
At ALU, our students begin their career development journey from day 1, using their 4 years at university to lay the right foundations for their 40 year careers after graduation.

This wos very help me to became good people
The most impactful part of my experience was the module on community engagement and sustainable development. It provided a framework for understanding how to lead with empathy and a long-term vision. To improve, I would suggest expanding the curriculum to include more in-depth study of technological innovation in Africa. My overall study experience was incredibly enriching. It broadened my perspective and instilled in me a sense of responsibility to use my education for the betterment of my community and country.
