On June 13, 1623, the Audiencia and the Archbishop acknowledged the papal brief and the Royal Decree authorizing the academic degrees in school that the Society of Jesus had established in Santa Fe since 1604. Then, students had time back there studied, including Pedro Claver, received their degree. 

The Javeriana University has promoted a greater articulation with schools that stand out for their high quality in basic education, with the aim of attracting students with excellent academic and personal conditions to our undergraduate programs.

Research at the Javeriana University welcomes the fundamental ethical principles of respect for human dignity, the environment and the communities with which it comes forward. Research involving human beings or experimentation on living subjects or products derived therefrom, ensures compliance with the ethical, scientific, technical and administrative rules issued by the competent authorities.

Students have the opportunity to enroll simultaneously at two or more academic programs at the same level of training.
