On May 28, 1878, Emperor Alexander II signed a decree on the establishment of the first and only higher education institution in the vast expanses from the Russian Urals to the Pacific Ocean – the Siberian Imperial University in Tomsk.

The Centre’s specialists work with international students from their arrival at TSU until they graduate and/or transfer, and provide wide support in the following areas:
National Research Tomsk State University opened one of the largest students' residence halls in the city (1,200 places).
Our students are provided with comfortable environment for living: dining rooms, kitchens, sports and laundry rooms, all the necessary social infrastructure. The hostel is divided into sections, you will share a room with one or two more students. There is a hallway, a bathroom and a shower in every room. In the spacious hall there is a place for self-study, relax and socializing.
Tomsk State University Research Library will take part for the fourth time in the All-Russian activity Library Night. On 22 April from 20.00 to 23.00, visitors will have traditional tour of the robot scanner and restorers of books, and also have new sites, workshops, meetings, and quests.

The University is home to a branch of Rotary Club International and other local student volunteers' clubs actively participating in the life of the city and the University. The International Division supports English, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and German student language clubs.
Studying at the university not only have I gained valuable knowledge in the sphere of politics and international relations, but also I was actively involved in extracurricular activities like seminars, conferences and internships. Moreover, I have met a lot of interesting people from all over the world, both students and academics. And this is the thing I am most thankful...
For me, this education was a quiete good experience. Almost all professors I had were wonderful competent First of all, there is still a soviet-orientated educational system. Almost all disciplines are compulsory. Students are always tired and they don't have enough time for other activities or scientific work. Secondly, some professors still believe violence can be used...
My experience at TSU is so far, so good. In general, I think that my university gives its students average knowledge. Our graduate programme is mostly outdated. It is enough for working in Russia, but also it is not the level which I want to reach.
