History
The Universidad de Santiago community, known as one of the oldest and most traditional universities of higher education in our country, celebrated the 167th anniversary of its foundation.
Education
The University has seven Faculties: Engineering, Administration and Economics, Science, Chemistry and Biology, Medical Sciences, Humanities, Technological as well as the School of Architecture and the Bachelor’s Program.
Research
Scientific knowledge can and should be considered as the factor that catalyzes the progress and success of the country when it is based on research as well as development and innovation. On the basis of this principle, the Universidad de Santiago defines the priority areas of research related to the needs of the nation, its regions and localities.

University Ranking
Universidad de Santiago de Chile has undergone institutional accreditation processes in three occasions, what reflects its commitment to quality. In 2003, it was accredited for three years and in 2008, it was accredited for six years in the five areas evaluated. In order to renew this certification, Universidad de Santiago carried out a thorough internal evaluation process in 2012 and 2013.
