History
Korea University was born as “Bosung College” in 1905. With a Royal grant from Emperor Gojong of the Korean Empire, Lee Yong-ik (Chungsukgong, 1854-1907), Treasurer of the Royal Household, established the school under the banner, “Education Saves the Country.” In the wake of the Korea-Japan Treaty in 1905,

One-Stop Service Center provides support services regarding the student’s life, such as issuing certificates, academic information, and counseling.
Housing services
- Anam Dormitory - Anam dormitories provide a basic living environment and amenities for students from outside the Seoul area allowing them to focus on their studies.
- Hoyeon Dormitory - Hoyeon dormitories provide a safe and comfortable living environment as well as amenities (such as seminar rooms, restaurants, shops, laundry room, music room, yoga room, etc.).
- Global KU campus - KU is the first Korean university that provides dormitories for KU students studying abroad.
Library services
The KU library collection consists of 3,181,798 physical (hard copy) materials, including 2,151,706 books, 598,366 periodicals, 238,305 dissertations, 106,273 antique books in Chinese characters, and 87,148 non-book materials. The KU library also has another 420,134 materials in digital format: 59,721 e-journals, 269 web databases 69.607 paper and 252,156 e-books.
Medical services
Hospitals affiliated with KU are Anam Hospital, Guro Hospital (the following two are Specialized General Hospitals), and Ansan Hospital (General Hospital), and the procedural process differs due to the hospital ranking of the current health care legislation.
Campus life
Korea University consists of the Anam Campus (in Seoul, 844,809m^2), Sejong Campus (in Sejong Special Self-Governing City, 428,871m^2) and three auxiliary hospitals (Anam Hospital: Seongbuk-district in Seoul, 67,676m^2, Guro Hospital: Guro-district in Seoul, 40,208m^2, Ansan Hospital: Ansan-city in Gyeonggi Province, 47,846m^2).

Student clubs
The activities of the student council revolve around the Anam Student Union and the Sejong Student Union, and comprise of student council bodies in each colleges as well as each departments. Students participate in events, projects, and research activities organized by each student council to renovate academic traditions and foster the spirit of self-governance.
