The Mediterranean Institute of Management (MIM) was established in 1976. It constitutes the International Component of the Cyprus Productivity Centre, a department of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance (MLWSI). The Council of Ministers by the decision 75.439 on the 10th of July, 2013 approved the status of the MIM as a public institution of tertiary education under the MLWSI.

The MIM acknowledges that research is one of the most important activities of our time and it makes a substantial effort to integrate research into its operation and to create a research culture. A Research Committee was established in October 2018 and is the MIM’s competent body for the management of research and other research related activities. The MIM Research Centre is located at the main premises of the Cyprus Productivity Centre (CPC) in Nicosia and consists of the library and the computer lab where the SPSS software is installed.
The MIM Postgraduate Programmes offer students, from a variety of academic backgrounds, the opportunity to prepare for a managerial career. Its overall objective is to provide students with a sound framework of concepts, analytical methods and techniques that will enable them to execute effectively their managerial duties. Even though the majority of the MIM students are employed the Progtammes are structured in a way to help them foster positive attitudes and behaviours towards the challenges of the Management field.

Τhe Student Welfare Service (SWS) operates under the Administrative Services of the Institute and is staffed by two officers. The SWS provides services and assistance to students during their studies at the MIM by furnishing them with valid and timely information and support for solving problems and difficulties encountered.
The MIM is a holder of an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education-ECHE and operates an Erasmus+ Office to provide information on mobility opportunities to the students, teaching and administrative staff of the Institute. Those interested to participate in a mobility opportunity should contact the Erasmus+ Officer for information and assistance in filling in the relevant applications.
The MIM does not provide student housing services as it does not own student halls. However, the Student Welfare Service (SWS) assists students with accommodation issues, helping them to find private accommodation. It is estimated that the cost of living is around €8.000 to €10.000 yearly for accommodation and personal expenses.
The MIM Library is located on the first floor of the main building in Nicosia, room No 25. Students also have access to online libraries via the Cypriot Libraries.
Access to EBSCOhost Databases is also available, covering a wide range of science fields, in cooperation with the Library of the University of Cyprus. The passwords for the EBSCO Database are available from the Secretariat.
Yes, the MIM provides IT support. The IT Administrator manages and oversees the IT systems of the MIM. He is responsible for the procurement, installation, security and functionality of the IT equipment and provides support to the users of the IT systems and the MIM electronic Platform (Moodle). The IT Administrator is accountable to the Director.
The MIM does not provide on campus healthcare facilities but the Student Welfare Services are alert to help with any healthcare issues that may occur. Additionally, the students and all members of the staff are informed about the Action Plan for Fire and Emergency Fire Incidents of the Productivity Centre and are invited to take part in relevant training, at the beginning of the academic year.
All buildings of MIM are located in one place, at Kallipoleos Avenue 77, Nicosia. The MIM facilities are very close to the city center and also very near to one of the two biggest shopping malls in Nicosia. The lecture rooms, and one of the two computer labs, are located on the ground floor of the main building. The second computer lab is located at the basement of the building. On the ground floor, there is a Study/Meetings Room, which can be used by students for study and /or group work.
In the central building there is a 76 m2 canteen. In the central courtyard of the central building there is a kiosk with a number of tables and benches with a capacity of 35 persons.The MIM doesn’t provide sports facilities at its premises but MIM students can use the University of Cyprus sports facilities upon presenting their student card. The old campus of the University of Cyprus is adjacent to MIM.
At the beginning of the academic year, students from each Programme are invited to elect their representatives. The representatives of each Programme represent students in various activities and liaise between students, academic staff and the Management of the Institution. Students’ representatives are also members of the Institution Committees and represent all students at meetings of these Committees.
Students usually organise sports teams, such as a futsal team, which in the recent past have participated in tournaments.All three MIM postgraduate Programmes have been evaluated and successfully accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA). The MIM accredited Programmes are listed on the website of CYQAA .
