Established in 1971, KAIST has garnered interest for its achievements in leading the growth of our nation’s science and technology industry, and has developed into a prominent global research university, attaining elevated standards and receiving recognition throughout the world from academic communities. In the future, KAIST will strive to become trusted even more, respected by South Korea and the world, and further its development, particularly in the field of research and education. Student services

Are you enduring unspeakable hardships? Is there a worry that you are hesitant to discuss with others? Is there a colleague or underclassman that needs psychological counseling in the following areas: career path, academics, personal relationships, problems with the opposite sex, or within the family, etc.?The KAIST Counseling Center is available for use by any constituent of KAIST, including students and faculty, to receive a variety of services dealing with their psychological hardships. The center provides professional psychological help for those in need by offering 1:1 counseling with a professional psychiatcist

Housing services

  • KAIST operates 22 dormitories for students who wish to live in the facilities during school semesters.
  • There are 15 male dormitories and 7 female dormitories located at the edge of KAIST’s west campus. There are 2 apartment complexes for married students located at the outskirts of the campus.
  • KAIST continually strives to maintain optimum facilities and create stable conditions for students to carry out their studies.

Library services

  • The KAIST library started as the KAIS (Korea Advanced Institution of Science) library in 1971 and was newly constructed in March of 1993 and re-opened in its current location.
  • KAIST library consists of 4 different libraries: Main Library, Undergraduate Branch Library, College of Business Library, and Munji Campus Library.

Student clubs

Graduate Student Association(GSA) was established to provide more enjoyable and cheerful life for the graduate students in KAIST. We always concern about the graduate students’ common problems, and work to solve them. We endeavor to improve research environment and welfare system, and organize the cultural service.

KAIST(Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) is one of the top universities in science and tech. Electrical engineering in KAIST is ranked on 17th in World's QS ranking. It is highly research based and competitive university. Being part of this for my top performance in highschool, I have acquired different research and academic skills and knowledge.
