It came into being through the dedicated efforts of visionaries who foresaw the need for an additional university in Israel. In the 1930s, the idea was promoted by then mayor of Tel Aviv, Meir Dizengoff, with whose encouragement two post-secondary education facilities were opened during the British Mandate period: The Biological-Pedagogical Institute and the School of Law and Economics.

Every student/visiting researcher is required to be covered by Israeli health insurance while studying in Israel. While most international programs* include health insurance as part of their tuition fees, research students/ fellows, students on individual tracks and students in TAU’s programs are not covered and are required to obtain their own Israeli health insurance.

First of, I would to say that for a woman like me (type that didn’t get the chance easily going to university) I found it fascinating. Learning Humanities studies opened the horizon for me in such a huge way. I can think critically more, and analyze in such a good way.
