Overview
The Diploma of Science offered at the Southern Cross University it can offer up to one year of credit, depending on course and units taken, into linked Bachelor degrees in science, environmental science, marine science and management, forestry science and management, civil engineering (Honours), coastal systems engineering (Honours) and mechanical engineering (Honours).
This course is offered through SCU College. The College understands that students have diverse experiences and ways of learning and offers additional tailored workshops and tuition help. Students can also interact with their peers through the College Connect service.
Career
Graduates of the Diploma of Science can seek para-professional work in a range of industries, including positions as field assistants, laboratory assistants, revegetation officers and environmental monitors.
Graduates who proceed to one of the pathway Bachelor degrees will have a range of career opportunities available in their chosen fields in government agencies and in the private sector.
