At University of Sussex, you engage directly with artefacts of international interest in relation to social history. The Mass Observations archive, with journal entries that give a snap-shot of everyday life in the 1940s, is housed at The Keep, a state-of-the-art archive conservation building located next to our campus.

You learn from leading experts in both fields. Our research influences ground-breaking debate and attracts a range of specialists to campus.

Graduate destinations

With a History and Sociology (Hons) degree, you gain analytical, communication, writing and research skills. This means you can go into sectors such as:
publishing and the media
charities, local government, and health and social welfare
heritage and museums.
We also offer sessions to help you apply for graduate schemes and jobs. Recent events have included workshops on:

European Baccalaureate: Overall result of at least 75% to 77%.
You should have a broad range of GCSEs 9-4 (A*-C), including good grades in relevant subjects.
