The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences includes two work placements, one clinically based and one exercise based, giving you exposure to real workplace environments.The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences at CQUniversity is the only course of its kind in Australia offered by distance education and on-campus. You may choose to study by distance education while working in the industry, allowing you to earn and gain practical experience while you learn.

A number of our health courses and units provide allow you to choose between on-campus or distance education, while some provide a mix of on-campus and online delivery methods. CQUniversity is an established provider of distance education and is able to offer a number courses and units in this mode that have not traditionally been available, such as nursing, medical science, exercise and sport sciences, accident forensics, paramedic science and more.

Work integrated learning

CQUniversity's health courses and units feature work integrated learning, or learning on the job. For some courses this may be referred to as clinical placement.

You may be required to complete unit undertakings in real-life workplaces, allowing you to put learning directly into practice. This hands-on, project-based learning is one reason CQUniversity graduates are in such high demand by employers.

Purpose-built facilities 

Quality facilities ensure learning is delivered in context, taught in a similar setting to real-world situations including exceptional simulation environments. New facilities including state-of-the-art technology for fitness and body function testing offer exercise and sport sciences students sophisticated training. Nursing students have access to fully equipped labs replicating a real hospital ward, while medical imaging and medical sonography are taught from new purpose-built multi-million dollar labs. The new CQUniversity Health Clinic at CQUniversity Rockhampton also provides clinical learning experiences to students.
