All systematic enquiry is ultimately grounded in philosophy. It’s the art of clear thinking, the ability to address the most fundamental questions in life and an understanding of how to revise our conceptual frameworks in order to elicit change in the world, which sets up you as a philosophy student to become a competent thinker, leader, and innovator who makes a real impact.

The Philosophy course at Murdoch University introduces students to the major strands of philosophical thought as well as offering three special focus areas: ethics and political philosophy, 20th century European philosophy, and history of metaphysics.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Total score of 33 points or higher

French Baccalaureate: Grade average of 14 or higher

GCE A Levels: Minimum of 12 points taken from the best 2 or 3 subjects where A*=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1 (AS Levels are equivalent to half points e.g. A=2.5, B=2 etc.) or higher

Other ways to qualify for entry - Successful completion of one of the following:

Murdoch University Pre-Law Alternative Entry Course (final grade of 60% or more). Note this course is not available to students on a Student Visa.

Successful study at AQF level 7 (or equivalent) achieving either one semester with a minimum 70% GPA; or two semesters with a minimum 67% GPA. Applicants via this pathway may be requested to attend an interview.

Successful attendance and completion of LAW START, an ability and aptitude Evaluation Pathway. Note this course is not available to students on a Student Visa.
