Overview

The Japanese language is a key to understanding dramatic social and cultural change in modern Japan. The Japanese course offered at Murdoch University , which is open to beginners and those with some knowledge of the language, consists of three years of interactive Japanese language study on the Perth campus, with a choice of including (upon successful application) one or more semesters at a Japanese partner institution. This course provides students with rigorous linguistic and socio-cultural training to become Japan specialists in their chosen careers.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: Total score of 33 points or higher

French Baccalaureate: Grade average of 14 or higher

GCE A Levels: Minimum of 12 points taken from the best 2 or 3 subjects where A*=6, A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1 (AS Levels are equivalent to half points e.g. A=2.5, B=2 etc.) or higher

Other ways to qualify for entry - Successful completion of one of the following:

Murdoch University Pre-Law Alternative Entry Course (final grade of 60% or more). Note this course is not available to students on a Student Visa.

Successful study at AQF level 7 (or equivalent) achieving either one semester with a minimum 70% GPA; or two semesters with a minimum 67% GPA. Applicants via this pathway may be requested to attend an interview.

Successful attendance and completion of LAW START, an ability and aptitude Evaluation Pathway. Note this course is not available to students on a Student Visa.
