Strengths of the BSPsy Program

The program is revised to keep current with emerging developments in the field. Students in the Psychology program of the Hellenic American College have the opportunity to work closely with psychology faculty members on field placements and research projects. Program strengths include the following:

• Extensive integration of psychological theory and research methods.

• Wide spectrum of electives, including Clinical Psychology, Principles of Psychotherapy, Child Psychopathology, Neuropsychology, Interviewing and Counseling, Psychology of Addictions, Music Therapy, and seminars in the area of social and multi-cultural psychology.

• Cognitive behavioral program orientation, with the exploration of other approaches to psychotherapy and counseling.

• Opportunity for hands-on practical experience at various community internship sites, under close supervision.

• Outreach community programs and events with the participation of mental health organizations and our College Counseling Center.

• Designing, conducting, analyzing and writing an original research project.

• Faculty mentoring and personal support for your academic and professional development.

• Career counseling and opportunities for networking through our Career Development Office during and after your studies.

The program provides a well-rounded education in which you not only acquire professional skills, but also develop character, self-awareness, intellectual breadth, and social skills. You’ll acquire the credentials needed to be prepared to continue your studies at the graduate level, and the skills and competencies needed for entry level positions in the human services and mental health fields.
