Knowledge Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the Information Systems (SUNY-ESC) program at the New York College students will be able to:
- Analyze, implement and manage computer systems in their technical and managerial dimensions.
- Understand and apply the theories and principles of systems design in real-life hardware and software projects.
- Have a foundation in science and liberal studies as delivered through the General Education program.
- Explain the principles and theories of ethical decision-making and their practical implications in the everyday conduct of business.
- Pursue postgraduate studies or professional qualifications in the fields of programming, software engineering and IT systems support and administration.
Careers
Information Systems graduates, apart from sound technical knowledge, acquire managerial skills necessary for implementing and managing contemporary Information Systems. They may be employed as computer systems analysts, software engineering, TI sales professionals, computer systems managers, IT consultants and more.
Combining computing knowledge and management specialisation, Information Systems graduates are a primary choice of many employers in all areas of the service sector in the contemporary private or public organisation.
Our Computer Science graduates have found jobs in systems programming, telecommunications management, software engineering, IT project management, MIS systems design, E-commerce management, IT consultancy and more.
