Psychology With Foundation Year (Hons) Arden University Online

Overview

Psychology with Foundation Year (Hons) at Arden University Online runs for 4 years full-time, in a blended format at the Birmingham, Leeds, London (Holborn and Stratford), Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham centres, with weekday or evening options. The first year is a foundation year that builds university-level study skills. The degree then covers a broad range of contemporary psychology, and you can shape the focus of your studies around your career interests. It ends with your own research project in an area you choose.

The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Graduates with at least a 2:2 are eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, the prerequisite for further training as a professional psychologist. You get free BPS student membership from enrolment. The teaching team are research-active academics and practitioners from organisational, educational, prison, healthcare and clinical settings. There are almost no exams, since only one exam is required, for research methods. Other assessments include reports, case studies, group presentations and role plays, such as running a mock counselling session. Entry requires a personal statement of about 350 to 550 words or an interview.
