Accounting and Finance With Foundation Year (Hons) Arden University Online

Overview

 It runs at the Birmingham, Leeds, London (Holborn and Stratford) and Manchester campuses. Students attend 8 hours of classes a week at campus, spread over two days (or one day a week during the foundation year), and do about 32 hours a week of independent study on the iLearn online platform. The foundation year builds study skills, research techniques and critical thinking, with personalised support from academic staff.

The Accounting and Finance With Foundation Year (Hons) program at Arden University Online then covers financial and management accounting, financial reporting, financial markets, corporate and business law, taxation, audit, international finance and investment. It also covers modern topics such as fintech, blockchain, AI and cloud computing. Students practise with the Bloomberg Terminal and the Moody’s Orbis company database, and with analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, EViews and MATLAB. Assessment includes assignments, board presentations, consultancy projects, client reports, investor memos and managing a practice equity portfolio. Some modules have exams, which are kept to a minimum.
