Overview
Through the Mechanical Engineering from Jönköping University you will build a solid foundation in mechanical engineering with a clear focus on engineering materials, manufacturing and product development, skills that are increasingly sought after by product-developing and manufacturing companies worldwide. You will work with advanced materials, sustainable product development and real industry challenges, while using digital engineering tools such as CAD, simulation of components and manufacturing processes, and increasingly AI-supported ways of working.
You will also gain insight into how AI and data-driven technologies are transforming product development and manufacturing. Throughout the programme, sustainability is integrated into all design projects, from material selection and design to manufacturing and finished products, and the programme is built to develop every student’s teamwork and communication skills.
Career opportunities:
After graduation, you’ll be ready for roles such as product development engineer, materials engineer, mechanical engineer, production engineer or design engineer. Engineers who connect engineering design with materials, product development and manufacturing are in demand across the manufacturing industry, not only in Sweden but all over the world. Combined with the practical experience from your design projects throughout the programme, you will have built a strong foundation for your future career.
Alternatively, you can start developing your own designs and products and become an entrepreneur, or continue your studies at master’s level, for example through the master’s programme in Materials Engineering for the Manufacturing Industry at the School of Engineering.
