Overview
Energy powers our world. You can help decide where it goes from here. As a graduate in sustainable energy technology, you will design and develop solutions for the safe, affordable, and sustainable production of electricity and heat. You will work on real-world energy systems, helping to advance the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
There are roughly three scenarios for the development of future energy solutions: renewable energy sources (solar, wind, and wave power, hydropower, and bioenergy), safe nuclear power, and carbon capture and use. As a graduate of this programme, you will build a career at the forefront of energy technologies. The field suits students who are interested in technology and want to apply mathematics and natural sciences to real-world problems.
What can you do with your degree?
Graduates of the Energy Technology programme at LUT University are needed for well-paying jobs that ensure safe, economical, and low-emission energy production. Because energy is always needed – during both economic growth and recessions – there is a need for experts in this field now and in the future.
Extensive knowledge of the energy industry is a hallmark of LUT University’s technology graduates. Our alumni mainly work in development, operation, and management positions in the energy industry and in production, research, and consulting positions.
Graduates work at the forefront of the energy sector, addressing challenges in energy economics, environmental impacts, emission reduction, and renewable energy. Their roles also cover nuclear energy safety and construction as well as the operation and optimisation of power plant systems.
By combining expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy and environmental technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT), you will build a strong foundation for sought-after roles developing modern, sustainable hybrid solutions.
