Overview
Connected not just by their creativity, Literature and Drama employ similar techniques to engage and inspire audiences. Informing and shaping society, they have the power to influence the mindsets of generations through their portrayal of cultural, historical or political events and themes, relationships and emotions.
One of the oldest English Literature departments in the UK, Bangor’s specialisms range from the literatures of the Middle Ages and Renaissance period, through to Victorian and Modernist forms. The Drama staff have creative portfolios in theatre, short films and production.
As part of English Literature and Drama (Hons) programme offered by Bangor University, you will perform in, or attend performances at, public venues such as Pontio or our stunning Prichard Jones Hall. Outside the course you can prepare and publish submissions for the Writers’ Guild or you can join the Rostra Theatre Society, English Drama Society, or Bangor Musical Theatre Society.
