The objective of the BVSc program is to produce competent animal health, veterinary public health and laboratory technology practitioners who would provide the highest standard animal health, veterinary public health and veterinary laboratory services to meet the needs and aspiration of the country, region and the world. A graduate of any of the three BVSc tracks can advance to a DVM (professional focus) or MSc degree after taking bridge courses based on program’s requirements.

General requirements

Admission requirement for the program is based on results of the Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination (EHEECE) and UGAT (Under-Graduate Admission Test) offered by the University.
Generally, the criteria set by the Ministry of Education (MoE) for admission will be applied to full-time regular students.
Students with diploma in animal health, biology, or animal sciences with a minimum cGPA of 2.00 and above can also be admitted with some course exemptions following course equivalence calculations and/or course audits based on academic commission recommendations.
