Overview
The Pharmacy Program at Mahidol University uses the principles of Outcomes-Based Education (Program Learning Outcomes: PLOs), emphasizing achieving educational outcomes. This approach has led to the creation of Smart Classrooms, which enhance communication between professors and students, allowing for immediate collection of student feedback, understanding, and issues. Consequently, Smart Classrooms play a crucial role in stimulating the learning process of students.
The program also focuses on instilling moral integrity, ethics, and positive attitudes towards the pharmacy profession at community, national, and international levels. Graduates will possess diverse skills in pharmaceutical care, with an emphasis on personalized medicine for general and special populations, along with an entrepreneurial mindset. These competencies are aligned with national and international laws and standards, enhancing graduates' competitive advantage in their careers.
Career Opportunities after Graduation
The graduates may pursue the following careers:
- Hospital Pharmacist: Responsible for drug product selection for the hospital, drug dispensing, advising patients on drug use, patient counseling for any drug-related problems, and extemporaneous compounding of drug preparations for individual patients.
- Clinical Pharmacist: Involved in the selection of drugs and dosage regimens, monitoring drug efficacy and safety according to disease(s), age, gender, and the excretory functions of the kidneys and liver of patients. Also provides drug information to the healthcare team and patients upon request.
- Community Pharmacist: Engages in primary care by analyzing symptoms and selecting appropriate drugs for treatment, monitoring drug use in chronic diseases, and promoting health within the community.
- Family Pharmacist: Cares for patients at their homes, verifying drug use and storage, monitoring the effectiveness of drug use in chronic diseases of bedridden patients, referring patients back to hospitals if necessary, and promoting health within the community.
- Clinical Research Associate Pharmacist: Conducts research on drug effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, drug non-adherence, incidence of adverse drug events, and related topics.
- Academic Pharmacist: Provides lectures, writes publications or textbooks to disseminate updated knowledge.
- Medical Science Liaison Pharmacist: Delivers knowledge on treatments and information about new products to prescribers and related professionals. 8. Independent Work or Business Owner: Manages independent drug stores, chain drug stores, health product businesses, clinical research companies, drug product registration companies, or import/export companies for drugs, cosmeceuticals, or nutraceuticals.

General requirements
- Studying or graduating from Thai High Schools (M.6) without a specified study plan OR Studying or graduating from International High Schools with Grade 12 in the American system OR Year 13 in the English system OR Obtaining a certificate equivalent to the criteria set by the Ministry of Education, in accordance with the Ministry of Education regulations regarding the comparison of domestic and foreign educational qualifications at the level of basic education B.E. 2563 (documents confirmation).
- High school transcripts must include four science-mathematics subjects, which should include: 1) Chemistry 2) Biology 3) Physics, and 4) Mathematics.
